Born on 13 July 1981 in Isniq, Deçan, Armend Mehaj built a military career in Norway and served on international missions. He was appointed Kosovo’s Minister of Defence on 22 March 2021. During his term, the defence budget and operational capacity increased; procurement of Bayraktar TB2 drones, artillery and other technologies advanced, alongside the professional development of the KSF and Ministry of Defence. He resigned on 8 August 2023 for family reasons.
